Top 5 Movies of 2009

As always, these are the top 5 movies that I have seen this year. You may have seen something you liked a lot more, but that is why it is my list....LOL. (Also, Mike and I do not go to movies hardly ever, so most are ones we waited to see until they were on DVD)

5) The Soloist-
Not just because I was an orchestra and choir geek, or because I LOVE the actors, but because it is one of those movies that really makes you think. Not as good as the book, but a great movie.
4) Taken-
I loved this movie! I like suspense movies. I loved that there was not a lot of blood, gore, etc. Makes me never want to let my kids travel alone for sure.
3) 17 Again-
Corny to most of you I know. But remember, we are BIG Disney Fans in this house.
This was a remake of an old Disney Channel Original movie (the original starred the entire Mowry family). I thought it was a fun movie.
2) UP!-
At first, I wasn't sure how I felt about this movie. Mostly because it was so much darker then the other Pixar films. Maybe because the characters had real life problems. It wasn't just talking cars, etc. But in the end I really LOVED the movie. It was cute and had a good lesson.
1) Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince-
Yes, I know, it left out a battle scene from the book. HOWEVER- I do not think it varied so much from the book that it ruined it. (I know a lot of people feel differently.) I also think it was left in a good spot to lead up to the final movie(s).
Honorable Mentions:
He's Just Not That Into You
(WARNING: if you are in one of these relationships you will not like this movie)
Hannah Montana: The Movie
(Yes, another Disney Movie, but much better done then Lizzie McGuire)
The Proposal
(Probably the closest to making it into the Top 5. It was a little predictable but very cute)
I will note:
I am not a Twilight fan, so I did not see it.
I only see about 15 new movies a year so there are a lot I haven't seen yet.

I am a big movie buff...I try to go to a movie once a week. (I'm a big fan of going to the 8AM show. LOL)
I saw "Taken", "17 Again", "Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince", "He's just not that into you", & "The Proposal" off of your list. Of the ones listed, I agree that Harry Potter was the best. :)

My list probably would have "Star Trek" as the best movie of the year, followed by "Blind Side" (which is just all kinds of amazingly good feeling) and "Sherlock Holmes".

Michelle- I haven't seen Blind Side or Sherlock Homes yet. Like I said, we mostly Red Box or $1 Theater. Star Trek haven't seen either. I plan on seeing all of those 3 though.

Loved, The Soloist...
Taken was amazing... didn't think I would like it but ended up totally into it. Awesome!
17 Again was super cute!!
Up made me cry... a lot!!!
Harry Potter was a very well made movie, but as a Harry Potter nerd, I was a bit dissapointed. It wasn't ruined for me, but I still left wanting more.

Hmm... I might just have to do this on my blog!!

Cute new design by the way!!
